• Mahmoud Said, an 11-year-old fifth-grade student, sells handmade trinkets and accessories to help support his family in Aswan during his school holidays. One day, while working at the Temple of Philae in Aswan, he sold handmade items to an Argentine tourist named Maria for $5. After receiving the payment, Mahmoud placed the money in his pocket, unaware that she had accidentally given him $20 instead.

• It was only after Maria had left the area that Mahmoud noticed the mistake. His honest nature wouldn’t allow him to let it slide, so he made it his mission to find her and return the remaining $15. After a search, he successfully found her and returned the extra money.

• Maria was so moved by his honesty that she shared her experience with a tour guide and posted about it on Instagram, expressing her amazement at his integrity. She even shared that his act inspired her to return to Aswan and encourage her friends to visit the southern region of Egypt.
