📢“Yes, I was invited!” Mostafa Gad Responded To Ahmed Helmy’s “Enta Masry” Controversy

  • Following the public outburst over Ahmed Helmy’s “Enta Masry…” ‘joke’ from his play’s last show in Riyadh “Bani Adam”, music producer Mostafa Gad stepped in to clarify the situation.

  • The viral clip showed a part of the remark “You’re Egyptian… you must be invited” which sparked mixed reactions—some fans felt the comment was inappropriate, while others defended it as Helmy’s signature humor, arguing that it was taken out of context and Ahmed Helmy found himself at the center of controversy.

  • Gad, who Helmy made the joke to, was front row seat, alongside his wife, singer Carmen Soliman that night. He revealed that due to a delay in the performance, Helmy decided to step down into the audience to engage with fans and lighten the mood—all while staying in character.

  • He also explained that the ‘joke’ was never meant to be offensive, emphasizing that Helmy wasn’t speaking as himself but as the villainous character he portrays in the play. In fact, Gad had no issue with the remark, as Ahmed Helmy was the one who personally invited him to the play.

  • Additionally, Mostafa Gad shared that he and Ahmed Helmy have known each other for five years and have maintained a friendship since then.

  • He reassured the people that the interaction was all in good fun with no offense meant and none taken and dismissed any misconceptions surrounding the incident.
